Itea virginica, originally from eastern North America, is a hardy, upright then arching shrub capable of withstanding UK winters. Its fragrant blooms are in dense, erect racemes that could be up to 15cm in length. Also it is semi evergreen, losing some of its foliage but keeping the rest through autumn and winter. Flowers May June. Height 150 200cm. Supplied in a 3 litre pot.
