Product reviews for Adam Window Box Fibreglass Planter

Adam Window Box Fibreglass Planter

Adam Window Box Fibreglass Planter

This ornate window box is designed in the Style of the Adam Brothers based on the work of the 18th century neoclassical architect and interior designer Robert Adam. Adamesque style is remarkable in that it was the first to fully integrate the design of the living space. That is to say that all decorations, furnishings and permanent features would maintain a uniform design. Today, it is hardly likely that your entire design scheme will be bespoke to fit around your choice of window box in fact, contrary to Adam's original theory of design, these fibreglass window boxes are perfect stand alone features. These are available in two finishes either 'Faux Lead' or 'Bronzage' shown below and the traditional motif will fit subtly with contemporary design schemes as well. As these are made of fibreglass they are far easier to lift than the materials they imitate and they resist the adverse effects of the weather. This makes them perfectly suited to be placed on window sills, balconies or roof terraces. Although these are generally lightweight, once they have been filled with soil, they will maintain their position robustly. They are extremely unlikely to be moved or shaken by the wind. To fill these planters, we would recommend any mixture of colourful bedding plants if they are placed close to the ground, for example, Geraniums make a particularly good choice. However, if they are placed higher up on an exterior window sill, some hanging ivy might be a more creative choice. It should be borne in mind however, that when picking a hanging plant for your planter, that they should be kept pruned so the downward pull never becomes so great as to dislodge your window box from it's happy home. Also available from Floraselect, is the Adam planter a cube bearing the same motif. In this vein you could attempt to replicate a little of the Adam Style by matching the two together creating a themed interior and exterior collection. By matching both pots and plants in one coherent design, you can fill your home with a little of the Adamasque.
