You won't have to put up with dried out stems from the supermarket when you grow your own lemon grass. These plug plants are best grown in a large pot and will form a clump of fleshy 'tillers' or stems which have the most intense lemony taste at the base. In summer it's best to grow in a sunny spot outside, moving indoors through winter when the pot can be kept on a well lit windowsill. Cut stems when needed and use in your favourite Oriental dishes.
