Salsola Seeds Okahijiki

Salsola Seeds Okahijiki

Origin Africa Asia. These salad leaves are crisp on the outside but curiously succulent slippery within. These shaggy tufts of wispy leaves are massive in Japan, where they are known as okahijiki. On the other side of the world, under the name of agretti. They are a regional delicacy in Italy.Easy to grow plants that respond well to repeated clipping.Sow April July or September October. Harvest May December. The curious charm of land seaweed has remained, until very recently, well kept secret from the rest of the world. Height 21 30cm.
